She pulled away from him with a wink, a sway in her steps as she padded silent through the living room. Peter loved her.
Her father was right about one thing. A woman like Felicia deserved something more special than a ring from Zales hidden away in a cake.
She deserved a proposal as unique as she was.

Jagger shoots her a dirty look. "I don't frequent those places, but yeah, probably. Just get him some clothes from this century and don't let him improvise."
"Ugh, fine," Adrian says with a long-suffering eyeroll. "But I'm only doing this for the good of the team, and I'll really enjoy rubbing this in all your faces when it turns out to be a stupid waste of time just like I said."
If looks could kill, Emilia would be burning a hole in Adrian's head right now and watching his single brain cell bouncing around inside like the logo of a DVD screensaver.

Well, that conversation went great.
At least he’ll leave her alone for a while. That’s always how it seems to go—they get along for a bit, it’s kind of nice, and then they get in a fight, and Chris mopes for a week or so before he comes back to try again.
She misses when Chris was just an asshole. He was a lot easier to deal with, then. She even misses when he just wanted to fuck her. It was simpler.
