This is the English version of my fanwork, 傑克和雪莉的後日談.
Some readers asked for an English version, so I used AI to help with the translation. English is not my first language. If anything sounds awkward or inaccurate, please feel free to let me know.After playing Resident Evil 6, I completely fell in love with Jake/Sherry. Since Capcom hasn’t brought them back for over a decade, I started writing my own story for them.
*This fic is set after RE6 and follows Jake and Sherry from mutual pining, to confession, to becoming a couple, with a mix of slice-of-life moments, bioterror incidents, and my own headcanons.
*Some canon characters will appear or be mentioned, along with a few minor OCs.
*I’m a multishipper, but Jake/Sherry is my main focus.
*I’ll do my best to keep the characters in character, but I know everyone has their own interpretation, so I hope you’ll be understanding.
*Also, I personally love the diva-type character trope, so in my version, Sherry is also gifted at singing.

Summary
The smell of rot singes Sherry's nostrils. The horrible, depraved smell of something evil. It slinks across the floor towards her, the folds of its rotting flesh squelching against the metal as it hunts for her. Sherry feels beads of sweat roll down her forehead onto her gloved hand that conceals her rushed breaths.
"Sherry."
It calls to her. Multiple distorted voices reach out to her in an effort to bait her out, catch her stumbling from her hiding spot and make her one of them. Blood drips down her side and sticks to her clothes, small drips falling into the abyss below the metal floor.
The sound of rotting flesh grows louder, the sound of hell creeps ever closer. Sherry can hear the crack of bones as its arm raises to take a swipe at her. Silently, she prays to whatever god is out there that Jake is spared from whatever comes next.
The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it?
