Summary
A year without word of her survival has left Garrus restless. After a whole series of events, the game has finally changed and he's tired of waiting. He knows where she is and he'll let nothing stand between him and the woman most call, "Commander." To him, she's just Shepard.
Excerpt:
Garrus checked the clip on each pistol before fastening them both to his hip, one on each side. He then leaned up against the dash so he could secure his Phaeston assault rifle on his back, left of his Widow. As he snapped his grenade belt around his waist, he spared the building's front entrance a dark grimace. He hated fighting in hospitals and as he donned his helmet, he felt like he was going to war in one.Series

Summary
Garrus and Shepard never talked about what would happen between them if they survived the Collector Base. And yet here they find themselves, alive and rather unsure of how to proceed.
Against the backdrop of the DLC content of Mass Effect 2, Garrus Vakarian and Andrea Shepard attempt to plan for a future they never thought they'd see, even while haunted by the pasts they'd tried to leave behind.
So much stands in the way: rank, duty, family, and more than a few scars. What chance does this casual cross-species liaison have in the face of such opposition?
(This is a sequel to "Practice," but can be read as a stand-alone.)
