Logan doesn't intend to be introverted, but he just doesn't think he meshes well with his five roommates. They all have their own preferences, personalities, pre-established friendships, and it's hard not to feel like they're only inviting him to hang out with them out of formality considering they all live under the same roof. However, Logan's roommates do genuinely want to spend time with him, and are continuously saddened by his polite rejections and refusals. So, they all individually come up with the same plan to get him to spend time with them: turning him into an object, and forcibly bringing him along. And, fortunately, Logan finds he quite enjoys being literally objectified, manhandled, and treated so intensely! Who knew objects felt so good all the time?

Following Bellamy's corruption, he flees Gem society and finds himself isolated on a planet far off the starmaps. After a few hundred years, he's found by an eccentric band of traveling gems, most of which he's fairly sure are fugitives, and essentially adopted into this horribly incompatible group of four (now five). Through Bellamy's eyes, he witnesses these gems' stories one by one, finding these ridiculous figures far more tragic than he would have initially expected. Also, he learns what family is. That's a bonus, I guess.
