“You can be.” It sounds so easy, from Dennis’s lips. Robby knows better.
“I can’t, Whitaker,” Robby asserts, wishing he could show Dennis just how impossible it was. Robby had tried everything. He’d performed teshuvah in every way he’d learned how; reciting Selichot until his voice gave out, fasting for days on end, visiting the river and chucking breadcrumbs into the murky depths like there was enough water on earth to wash his mistakes away.

Jonathan thinking, I should’ve been there, I should’ve been stronger, it should’ve been me. Jonathan knowing in his bones that Joyce would have picked him as the sacrifice any day if she was given the chance. Jonathan thinking that the goal of a sacrifice is to appease, to satisfy, and realizing that could never be him because he’d never be good enough. He isn’t a filling meal. He knows Will always comes above him. The only thing Jonathan’s ever been chosen for is to go first: let Lonnie hit him over will, let Joyce send him into battle over will, let him be the one who dies over will. He’s kind of okay with that.

Eddie raises his eyebrows, a little disbelieving. A lot egotistical. “Are you seriously getting off on this?”
Steve makes a wheezing sound. His hips jerk, pressing into the sole of Eddie’s shoe. Eddie’s mouth waters and he adds pressure.
“Fuckfuckfuck, don’t, ah, don’t act like you’re not into this, too.”
Eddie feels his cheeks burn, shoves his hands into the pockets of his jeans as he presses down harder and replies, “sure, baby,” in his most disinterested tone. Still, they both know that Steve is right.
“Eddie,” Steve whines. He looks weepy, eyes glistening, fists clenching and unclenching by his sides where he holds himself up on shaking knees. Steve’s proper little socks are still on, and they slide uselessly along Eddie’s tile floor.

Another Steve/Robin fake relationship fic! Even after their "Platonic with a capital P" conversation, I don't think Nancy or the rest of the party will just accept that Steve and Robin can be so close without dating. Love the '80s and heteronormativity!
But Steve and Robin use this to their advantage, because they're shady little shits.Steve and Robin's friendship is vaguely inspired by "it's a risk, it's a gamble" which is a Jonathan/Nancy/Steve fic! I'm not usually a Steve/Nancy or a Steve/Nancy/Jonathan shipper, but the portrayal of Steve and Robin's friendship, and Steve's view of the kids, is legitimately perfect.

And Peter, well, he isn't the strongest of men. Not to mention that Peter's hero complex doesn't exactly extend to himself.
May still doesn’t know that he’s Spiderman. Because of this, she also doesn’t know about his increased metabolism, hunger, strength, sensitivity, everything. He didn’t really notice, for the first few weeks, until he hears May on the phone with one of her work friends discussing how she didn’t realize how much teenage boys eat. Peter immediately stopped eating.
Flash knows something is up. He knows the signs, or at least he thinks he does. And he's going to get to the bottom of things, one way or another.
