After the third declined call, he had given up on Claire. Chris scrolled through the rest of his contacts and wracked his brains for who, besides Claire, could possibly be both responsible and trustworthy enough to handle caring for an infant who may or may not be bio-weapon. The list of names was short. A select few who remained after everything. The ones who had seen it all. He had called all but one. Claire was unavailable, Jill on a mission, and Sherry unreachable (probably also due to responsibilities), one name was left … Leon. It wasn’t so much that Chris didn’t want to call Leon, it would just be easier if he didn’t have to. With a sigh he pressed the call button, the desperation of the moment overriding his avoidance.

Chris has to go on a mission while also responsible for Rosemary's care and Leon is the only one available to take care of her.

The last thing Steve remembered is Claire crying out for him to not die. To his own confusion and shock, he awakens in a lab to a world that's moved on without him.

In biology, a nymph is the juvenile form of some invertebrates, particularly insects. Rookie Leon S. Kennedy, in Raccoon City in the midst of the worst night of his life, is not an insect. Until he is, at which point his usual story takes a sharp left turn and goes straight off a cliff.
Or, an AU of an AU where Leon, in the middle of Raccoon City, gets infected by a plaga six years too early. Becoming a monster in a city filled with them is terrifying enough, but when your options are adapt or die, you take what you can to survive. Plus, it has its perks. Being bite proof is one of them.

Summary
As he swiveled around the office in search of his personal belongings, Albert stalled in place. His desk was empty. His computer was gone. His name placard had fallen to the wayside on the floor where something had knocked it down. There were pens and his usual coffee mug scattered beneath the desk. The other seating chairs he kept in his office were also gone. Everything was covered in a thin layer of dust. The carpets looked grimy under foot as he stepped.
“What is going on?” He balked. Leaving his office didn't prove to secure any further answers. Half of the office appeared to be frozen in the middle of being packed up. Cardboard boxes littered one side where Enrico’s team were situated. A few of the desks were completely cleared off.
This felt far too unsettling to be real, but far too real to be a dream. Albert turned back towards the entrance to S.T.A.R.S. in an effort to get some answers. Perhaps Irons was involved in this in some manner.

Leon S. Kennedy is the newest artist at Raccoon City Ink, and struggling to find steady clientele. Maybe because he's still considered young for the job at twenty-three, or maybe because he's not had his own chair longer than a few months. But a spitfire college student takes a chance on his work, and he finds her good company. He didn't think much of it when she tells him she'll bring her brother along to their second session, just happy to have made a new friend.

"Hey, rookie," one of his coworkers says with a grin, dark hair turned salt-and-pepper with age. His eyes are just as dark as his close-cropped curls and beard, alight with a kind of knowing gleam that puts Leon slightly on edge. "Bored, yet?"
"Maybe a little," Leon says with a laugh, reaching for another folder. "Is this what all of you guys do all the time?"
"Mostly! Not all that exciting here in the West end. Although—" He breaks off, glancing at what Leon assumes are his friends across the room. "We could switch tasks, if you like. Karen, Jeff, and I are supposed to do some inventory down in the firing range, and I'm sure you're eager for a change in pace?"
